Engineer Sr. Software Engineer (Tech Lead) - Typescript/React at Bloomerang

Senior technical lead who writes code, mentors engineers, shapes technical direction, and drives team's technical outcomes using AI and automation to improve engineering workflows.

Lead Posted about 9 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

At Bloomerang, we believe change happens on purpose. We champion the power and potential of nonprofits, igniting next-level impact with the team and technology built for purpose. Our powerful giving platform and stellar support enable tens of thousands of nonprofits to raise more, recruit more, and retain more, fueling maximum impact and raising the bar on what’s possible for the nonprofit sector. That’s why, even as the nonprofit sector sees declines in giving, Bloomerang customers raise more year over year.

We’re also in the business of creating thriving employees. Join a mission-driven culture built on our core values of Simplify, Care and Act. We know our people are the key to our success, and we’re proud to be home to some of the most innovative and skilled individuals in the workforce today. Come feel invigorated and unstoppable with us!

The Role

As a Senior Software Engineer (Technical Lead) at Bloomerang, you are the senior-most technical engineer on a delivery team and a key driver of the team’s technical success. You are a hands-on engineer who writes code, solves difficult problems, shapes technical direction, and helps the team consistently deliver high-quality software for the nonprofits we serve.

This is an opportunity to help define what great engineering looks like in an AI-first world. AI is changing what individual engineers and entire teams can accomplish, and we’re actively exploring how to use that leverage to build better software, automate the work around software development, and give our engineers more time to focus on the problems that matter. You’ll be one of the technical leaders helping turn that opportunity into everyday engineering practice.

You will own the technical outcomes for your team, partnering with Product, QA, and Engineering to turn ambiguous problems into practical solutions. You’ll lead through technical excellence by mentoring engineers, raising the team’s engineering standards, and using AI and automation to increase team leverage, improve engineering workflows, and ultimately help us build better products for the nonprofits that depend on us.

What You Will Do

  • Own the team’s technical outcomes. Set a high bar for code quality, reliability, maintainability, security, and technical execution, and make sure the team follows through on what it ships.
  • Lead technical direction and design within your team’s domain. Translate product and business problems into pragmatic technical solutions, independently shaping the approach for small-to-moderately scoped features and driving them through implementation. Partner with Staff Engineers and architects when decisions have broader cross-team or cross-product implications.
  • Make the team better. Mentor engineers across experience levels, provide actionable technical feedback, identify opportunities for growth, and help engineers develop the judgment and skills to solve increasingly complex problems independently.
  • Champion AI-driven engineering and automation. Use AI tools such as Claude Code and other emerging tools as part of your daily development workflow, while identifying opportunities to automate repetitive or high-friction engineering work. Experiment with new approaches, measure their effectiveness, and turn successful practices into repeatable workflows that increase team leverage, improve quality, and accelerate delivery.
  • Balance delivery with long-term technical health. Proactively identify technical debt, architectural risks, performance concerns, and reliability issues, and work with the team to address them while staying focused on product outcomes.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical problems. Use deep debugging, observability, and system-level knowledge to find root causes and improve the systems and practices that prevent issues from recurring.
  • Own quality end to end. Build quality into the development process through appropriate automated testing, code review, observability, and continuous feedback.

What You Need to Succeed

Technical Depth

  • Strong, recent experience building and shipping production software as a hands-on engineer.
  • Deep proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript across the stack — Node.js and Express on the server, React on the front end — with strong experience in modern web development.
  • Strong experience with relational data modeling and SQL (PostgreSQL), REST API design, asynchronous programming, automated testing, and production debugging and observability.
  • Experience modernizing legacy systems incrementally — porting or strangling legacy code into a modern stack while a live product keeps running for customers.
  • Comfort building and operating integrations and data sync between systems, where correctness, idempotency, and conflict handling matter.
  • The ability to make pragmatic architectural decisions that balance scalability, reliability, maintainability, and delivery speed.
  • Helpful, but not required: Experience with Java, AngularJS, Sequelize or a comparable ORM, AWS/cloud infrastructure, or CRM platforms.

Technical Leadership & Autonomy

  • Experience serving as the senior technical engineer or technical lead on a team, influencing technical direction without relying on formal management authority.
  • The ability to take an ambiguous or moderately scoped problem, develop the technical approach, make sound tradeoffs, and drive it through implementation and delivery.
  • A strong ownership mindset; you care about the quality, reliability, maintainability, and long-term health of what your team ships.
  • The judgment to know when to make decisions independently and when to bring in broader architectural or organizational expertise.

AI Fluency & Engineering Leverage

  • Genuine, hands-on fluency with AI development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools.
  • Experience using AI meaningfully in day-to-day engineering work, including coding, debugging, research, code analysis, and problem-solving.
  • The ability to identify opportunities to use AI and automation to improve engineering workflows, increase team leverage, and raise quality—not simply to write code faster.
  • Curiosity about emerging AI capabilities and a willingness to experiment, learn, and turn useful practices into repeatable team workflows.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • A track record of mentoring engineers and raising the technical capability and confidence of the people around you.
  • The ability to communicate technical decisions and tradeoffs clearly with Engineering, Product, QA, and other partners.
  • A continuous-improvement mindset and willingness to challenge existing practices when there is a better way to build, test, operate, or deliver software.
  • A collaborative approach to technical leadership: you can drive a decision while still seeking input and bringing others along.

Nice to Haves But Not Required

  • Experience with Java, or another JVM stack, in a legacy modernization context
  • Experience with AngularJS, or migrating a legacy front end to React
  • Cloud infrastructure (AWS)
  • Feature flagging and progressive delivery (LaunchDarkly, OpenFeature, or similar)
  • API and end-to-end test automation (Playwright, Jest, or similar)
  • Multi-tenant SaaS at scale
  • CRM, nonprofit, or volunteer management experience

Benefits

Health + Wellness

You’ll have access to generous health, vision, and dental insurance options as well as HealthiestYou, a healthcare service that offers convenient, confidential access to quality doctors 24⁄7, anytime, anywhere.

Time Off

You’ll get a competitive PTO package that includes 20 PTO days, 3 flex days, 4 optional volunteer days, 12 paid holidays, as well as paid parental leave. More is more!

Staff Backend Engineer - Mimir Query, Databases

This is a remote position. We are looking for candidates in the USA time zones.

What is Grafana Cloud?

Grafana Cloud is our composable observability platform that integrates metrics, logs, traces, and profiles with Grafana. It allows our customers to leverage the best open source observability software – including Prometheus, Mimir, Loki, Tempo, and Pyroscope – without the overhead of installing, maintaining and scaling their own observability stack.

We encourage pragmatic AI-assisted development: faster prototyping, test generation, refactors, documentation, and incident follow-ups—always with strong code review and quality standards. You’ll also have access to the latest frontier models from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google.

What makes you a great fit:

You are a motivated self starter with a bias towards action. You are customer focused. We build everything with our users in mind. You have a passion for creating intuitive products that fit customers’ needs. You have good time management skills, which you leverage to work on the right things at the right time.

  • Pragmatism: You are able to take on complex challenges and break them down to achieve short feedback loops: to analyze, design, and build modular solutions, deliver MVPs, gather data and feedback and then progress iteratively
  • Collaboration and communication: The smallest unit we have is a squad. You’ll be working with your teammates in a fully remote setup. Good communication and time management skills are a must.
  • Solid experience with at least one programming language. We use Go, but if you have familiarity with Python, C, C++, Rust or similar then that translates well
  • Experience with leading and delivering projects from gathering requirements, brainstorming ideas all the way to shipping a product to the customer’s hands in a self-driven and collaborative way

Operator Principal Customer Architect at Netomi

Principal technical leader who designs AI agent architectures, sets quality standards, and establishes deployment patterns for enterprise customer experience platforms.

Lead Posted about 10 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

About the Company:

Netomi is the leading agentic AI platform for enterprise customer experience. We work with the largest global brands like Delta Airlines, MetLife, MGM, United, and others to enable agentic automation at scale across the entire customer journey. Our no-code platform delivers the fastest time to market, lowest total cost of ownership, and simple, scalable management of AI agents for any CX use case. Backed by WndrCo, Y Combinator, and Index Ventures, we help enterprises drive efficiency, lower costs, and deliver higher quality customer experiences.

Want to be part of the AI revolution and transform how the world’s largest global brands do business? Join us!

About the Role:

Netomi is seeking a Principal Customer Architect — the senior-most technical individual contributor in our Customer Engineering organization. You will own the technical arc of the accounts where the stakes are highest — first-of-kind deployments, peak-event scale, regulated industries — and set the architecture, governance, and quality standards the entire Customer Architect function operates by.

Getting an AI agent live is no longer the hard part. The hard part is what comes after the pilot: expanding from one use case to twenty, holding quality as policies and systems change underneath you, proving containment and CSAT to a CIO, and earning the right to the next set of journeys. Solving that repeatably, across every account, is the job. The Principal Customer Architect is where the hardest versions of that problem land — and where the patterns that solve them for everyone else get written.

You are deeply credible in a design review — able to read an execution trace, reason about why an agent chose the wrong tool, and design guardrails and evaluation strategy. You set the architecture and own quality sign-off; our Agentic Deployment team executes. Your leverage comes from architecture, judgment, and the standards you set for others: the reference architectures, evaluation frameworks, and playbooks the function deploys from. The operating principle: make deployments prescriptive and repeatable, not bespoke.

Responsibilities:

Account Architecture:

  • Design the end-to-end agent architecture across the customer’s journeys and channels — chat, email, voice, SMS, in-app — including agent decomposition, escalation and handoff design, and how autonomous and human-in-the-loop modes divide the work.
  • Design the integration blueprint against the customer’s real stack: CRM and ticketing (Salesforce, Zendesk, ServiceNow), telephony and contact center, identity, loyalty and reservations systems, order and payments, and data platform.
  • Set the guardrail, governance, and observability architecture: define what the agent must never do, how that is enforced, how it is audited, and what the customer’s compliance and risk teams see.
  • Set the architecture and governance standard the Agentic Deployment team executes against, and own quality sign-off before anything reaches production.

Technical Success Planning:

  • Author and maintain a Technical Success Plan per account: current-state architecture, target-state architecture, the sequenced roadmap between them, and the metrics defining success at each stage.
  • Define the measurement model with the customer up front — containment, resolution rate, CSAT/DSAT, deflection economics, handle time, escalation quality, cost per resolution — and hold both sides to it.
  • Run a recurring technical business review with customer leadership: what shipped, what it moved, what’s next, and what’s at risk.

Adoption & Technical Expansion:

  • Own the technical expansion path for land-and-expand: chat to email to voice to employee-facing, plus new intents, lines of business, regions, and languages.
  • Identify expansion opportunities from technical reality rather than wishful mapping, size the work honestly, and hand qualified opportunity to the account team.
  • Anticipate what breaks at the next order of magnitude — peak-event volume, new policy regimes, upstream system migrations — and get ahead of it in the roadmap.

Trusted Technical Advisor:

  • Hold the primary technical relationship with senior stakeholders: VP/Head of Customer Experience, Director of Contact Center Technology, enterprise architects, security and compliance leadership, and often the CIO.
  • Advise on the parts of the program Netomi doesn’t own — knowledge base quality, policy clarity, agent operating model, org readiness — because agent performance depends on all of it.
  • Deliver hard technical news early and clearly. Credibility is built on accurate expectation-setting, not optimism.

Partner Co-Delivery:

  • Set the architecture and quality standard that SI delivery partners build against.
  • Certify and enable partner delivery teams; scale through them rather than absorbing all delivery work.
  • Maintain quality sign-off regardless of who executes.

Prescriptive Playbooks:

  • Contribute to vertical deployment blueprints — airline, insurance, gaming, media — covering reference architecture, guardrail configuration, evaluation packs, and expansion paths.
  • Turn what works in one account into prescriptive onboarding and day-2 playbooks the whole organization deploys from.

Product Collaboration:

  • Translate field observation into specific, evidenced, pattern-based product input — quantified, not anecdotal.
  • Be a named internal voice on enterprise requirements: security posture, deployment topology, model flexibility, and auditability.

Escalation & Incident Response:

  • Lead the technical side of escalations: quality regressions, integration failures, and incidents during peak events.
  • Drive root-cause analysis with Engineering and communicate it to the customer with precision and appropriate accountability.

Function-Level Technical Leadership:

  • Define and own the architecture, governance, and quality standards for the Customer Architect function: reference architectures, guardrail patterns, evaluation frameworks, and sign-off criteria.
  • Own the hardest technical problems in the portfolio — first-of-kind deployments, peak-event scale, novel compliance regimes — and convert their solutions into function-wide standards.
  • Mentor Senior and staff-level Customer Architects; act as the escalation point for architecture decisions across accounts.
  • Represent Customer Engineering’s technical position to executive leadership, Product, and Engineering, and shape platform direction based on aggregate field evidence.

Requirements:

  • 12+ years in customer-facing technical roles — solutions architecture, technical account management, forward-deployed engineering, implementation architecture, or technical consulting — including sustained ownership of post-sales technical outcomes.
  • Recognized technical authority at prior companies: the architect others escalated to, with demonstrated ownership of the largest and most complex enterprise accounts at Fortune 500 scale.
  • Genuine technical depth: reads code and API documentation, reasons about distributed systems and integration architecture, debugs a failing data flow, and holds their own with a customer’s principal engineer.
  • Working understanding of LLM-based systems — prompting, tool use, retrieval, evaluation, guardrails, failure modes — and judgment about where they are and aren’t the right answer.
  • Consultative and prescriptive: builds playbooks, not one-offs.
  • Moves between a CIO conversation about business outcomes and an engineering conversation about trace-level agent behavior without losing either audience.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward writing things down.
  • Track record defining architecture standards, methodologies, or playbooks adopted beyond your own accounts — at practice, function, or company level.
  • Experience influencing product direction at an enterprise software company through structured, evidenced field input.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience co-delivering through SI partners — enabling delivery teams rather than doing all the work directly.
  • CX, contact center, or conversational AI background — CCaaS, CRM/ticketing ecosystems, IVR and voice, workforce management.
  • Depth in a core vertical: airlines and travel, media and streaming, gaming and sports betting, financial services and insurance, or retail.
  • Familiarity with enterprise security and compliance — SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR, PCI, ISO 27001 — without escalating to Legal for every question.
  • Experience designing evaluation frameworks or quality programs for non-deterministic systems.

Content Head of Content & Media at Alpaca

Build and lead an AI-first content engine across multiple media properties including podcasts, video, and editorial franchises while developing strategy and workflows.

Lead Remote Posted about 11 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Who We Are:

Alpaca is a US-headquartered, global leader in agent-first brokerage infrastructure for stocks, ETFs, options, crypto, fixed income, 24⁄5 trading, and more.

Amongst our subsidiaries, Alpaca is a licensed financial services company, serving hundreds of financial institutions across 40 countries with our institutional-grade APIs. This includes broker-dealers, investment advisors, wealth managers, hedge funds, and crypto exchanges, totalling over 10 million brokerage accounts.

Our global team is a diverse group of experienced engineers, traders, and brokerage professionals who are working to achieve our mission of opening financial services to everyone on the planet. We’re deeply committed to open-source contributions and fostering a vibrant community, continuously enhancing our award-winning, developer-friendly API and the robust infrastructure behind it.

Alpaca is proudly backed by $400 million in funding from top-tier global investors including Portage Ventures, Spark Capital, Tribe Capital, Social Leverage, Horizons Ventures, Opera Tech Ventures, SBI Group, Derayah Financial, Unbound, Peak XV, Elefund, and Y Combinator.

Our Team Members:

We’re a dynamic team of 400+ globally distributed members who thrive working from our favorite places around the world, with teammates spanning the USA, Canada, Japan, Hungary, Nigeria, Brazil, the UK, and beyond!

We’re searching for passionate individuals eager to contribute to Alpaca’s rapid growth. If you align with our core values—Stay Curious, Have Empathy, and Be Accountable—and are ready to make a significant impact, we encourage you to apply.

Your Role:

At Alpaca, we believe every meaningful company initiative should become a scalable content opportunity. We don’t treat content as a series of one-off announcements—we treat it as an engine.

We’re looking for a Head of Content & Media to build Alpaca into a leading media and lifestyle brand at the intersection of financial services, investing, technology, and global markets.

This person will build and lead our AI-first content engine while developing original media properties, including Alpaca’s podcast platform, video programming, executive-led content, and other recurring editorial franchises. The role is equal parts media strategist, content leader, operator, storyteller, and builder.

You’ll create the strategy, systems, workflows, and automation that transform product launches, customer wins, partnerships, podcasts, industry developments, and company milestones into compelling content across every channel. You will also establish a distinctive editorial voice and build an audience that looks to Alpaca for valuable insights, conversations, and perspectives on the future of financial services.

This is not a traditional content marketing role. You’re building the media and lifestyle brand and content flywheel that power Alpaca’s brand, thought leadership, customer education, audience growth, and commercial success. Business teams own their objectives, audiences, and core messaging; you own the media strategy and operating system that transform those inputs into high-quality content and scalable media programming.

What you’ll do:

  • Own the strategy and buildout of Alpaca as a recognized media brand, developing a differentiated editorial voice, recurring programming, and an engaged audience across financial services, investing, technology, and global markets
  • Manage the content team and build Alpaca’s AI-first content operating system, creating a content flywheel that turns every meaningful company initiative and industry conversation into a repeatable media opportunity
  • Build and own Alpaca’s podcast platform from the ground up, including its editorial direction, format, guest strategy, production, distribution, audience development, and performance
  • Develop podcast and video programming featuring executives, customers, partners, industry leaders, and other influential voices, positioning Alpaca at the center of important industry conversations
  • Use podcast conversations and original media programming to amplify product news, fundraising announcements, major partnerships, customer stories, company milestones, and industry insights
  • Create original editorial franchises and repeatable content formats that audiences associate with Alpaca, spanning podcasts, video series, newsletters, interviews, research, events, and social content
  • Own the complete content and media lifecycle, from editorial planning and production through publishing, distribution, audience growth, measurement, and continuous optimization
  • Transform company initiatives into compelling content across all business and product lines by partnering closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, Communications, Customer Success, and Executive Leadership
  • Leverage AI and automation to dramatically increase content velocity, consistency, quality, and scale across research, transcription, drafting, video clipping, repurposing, translation, publishing, analytics, and workflow automation
  • Build repeatable processes that ensure every important initiative generates maximum impact across multiple channels and formats, including blog posts, LinkedIn, X, short- and long-form video, podcasts, email newsletters, customer communications, company websites, internal communications, presentations, and case studies
  • Own Alpaca’s content distribution and audience-development strategy, expanding reach across owned, earned, executive, partner, and social channels
  • Craft Alpaca’s executive thought leadership strategy and establish consistent, differentiated messaging across the founders and senior leadership team
  • Establish content governance, editorial standards, production processes, asset-management systems, and performance-reporting methodologies
  • Define and track success across brand reach, audience growth, engagement, content performance, podcast listenership, media influence, and contribution to company growth
  • Build and lead a world-class content and media team over time

What we’re looking for:

  • 10+ years of content marketing experience, including 3+ years leading and building teams in a high-growth B2B technology or fintech environment
  • Outstanding storytelling and editorial judgment in pursuit of building trust with a global audience across multiple formats and channels
  • An exceptional operator who isn’t afraid to build the playbook
  • Deep understanding and track record of leveraging AI-native content creation tools and marketing automation
  • Experience developing executive thought leadership and category-defining narratives
  • Data-driven, with a focus on measuring business impact and cost efficiency rather than raw content output
  • Comfortable collaborating remotely in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment
  • Clear communication—you can articulate your strategy, align stakeholder priorities, and listen openly to feedback

Nice to have:

  • Experience in fintech, financial services, developer tools, or other highly technical industries where making dense subject matter approachable without losing credibility is essential
  • Hands-on experience building podcast-first or multimedia content programs
  • Proven success standing up and leading a content team from an early stage
  • Familiarity with the developer and investing infrastructure ecosystem

Success Looks Like:

  • All major company initiatives enter a repeatable content flywheel
  • Content moves from idea to publication in days, not weeks
  • Every source event produces high-quality assets across every relevant channel
  • AI and automation continuously improve speed, quality, and efficiency
  • Alpaca becomes the most reputable voice in developer infrastructure for investing

How We Take Care of You:

  • Competitive Salary & Stock Options
  • Health Benefits
  • New Hire Home-Office Setup: One-time USD $500
  • Monthly Stipend: USD $150 per month via a Brex Card

Alpaca is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace dedicated to pursuing and hiring a diverse workforce.

HR Lead Recruiter at Kojo

Lead recruiter owns full-cycle recruiting for GTM and G&A roles, sources candidates, manages recruiting operations, and maintains hiring quality amid rapid company growth.

Lead Posted about 14 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

About Kojo

It’s time to build. Whether it’s creating more housing, upgrading our infrastructure, or adapting to climate change, one thing is clear: the construction industry is at the center of solving our biggest problems. We’re making buildings cheaper and easier to build by transforming the way commercial construction companies buy their materials. Join us.

Founded in 2018, Kojo is now one of the fastest-growing construction technology companies in the world. Construction accounts for $10 trillion in global spend annually and we can’t live without its output - our roads, schools, hospitals, and offices. Despite this, there’s been very little innovation over the past 70 years in how materials - which constitute up to 40% of project costs - are bought and sold. This is our opportunity.

About the Role

To meet our season of record-breaking customer growth and AI product innovation, we’re bringing on a Recruiting Lead to own the recruiting function end to end. Primarily in the GTM/G&A realms, entry-level to senior leadership searches will fall under this recruiter’s purview - plus the recruiting operations that keep the machine running behind the scenes.

In a talent landscape that’s ever-evolving and increasingly competitive, a best in class recruiting function is more important than ever. Our hiring methodology isn’t sheer volume, but sincere business partnership and quality of hire. You’ll work with hiring managers as an extension of their team and manage the operations and scalability to maintain best in class hiring amid global expansion. As a Series C company growing at this record-breaking pace, every hire you make has an outsized impact on what Kojo becomes next. There’s no more pivotal time to join and help us take Kojo further into the candidate market.

What you’ll own:

  • Own full-cycle recruiting for Kojo’s GTM and G&A searches, from intake to offer, across levels from entry-level to senior leadership.

  • Actively source best-in-class candidates, both active and passive, and ensure a white glove candidate experience through consultative, timely communication and market intelligence to properly matchmake between open roles at Kojo.

  • Manage, iterate, and continue to run the operating rhythm behind recruiting: profile debriefs and ICP iterations, pipeline reviews, and the reporting cadence that keeps hiring managers and leadership aligned on where every search stands.

  • Manage Ashby as Kojo’s ATS and single source of truth for headcount budgeting, owning requisition workflows, scorecards, and the data hygiene that makes every pipeline report trustworthy.

  • Own compensation benchmarking for open reqs, partnering with our Director of People on real-time GTM and G&A market data instead of last year’s numbers.

  • Continuously close candidates through every stage in the hiring process to ensure a best in class offer acceptance rate, and manage the offer for every close, partnering directly with Finance on budget and approval before it goes out.

  • Diagnose where the recruiting process itself is the bottleneck, time-to-fill, drop-off stage, interviewer load, and fix it before it becomes a leadership question.

  • Leverage AI-enabled workflows and internal tools (e.g., Claude, Granola, Notion, LinkedIn Recruiter) to understand market signals at scale by synthesizing feedback, hiring patterns, and requests to identify opportunities before they become obvious.

About You

We’re looking for the recruiter who treats every search as the chance to bring exceptional talent and outsized impact to Kojo. Our ideal Lead Recruiter is a student of the market: constantly building a genuine knowledge base of the ever-changing talent landscape in AI and construction, and knowing where the best talent sits today and what it takes to get them excited about Kojo.

Early stage experience is strongly preferred in this environment. Priorities shift, searches evolve, and there’s a sincere opportunity to scale far beyond the bounds of this job description. We’re looking for someone who wants to build with the company and may be operating as an individual contributor today, but has the curiosity to scale into broader leadership roles as we continue to grow.

What we’re looking for:

  • Full-cycle ownership: You’ve run searches start to finish, from intake call to signed offer (and hopefully hiring high-slope talent where those candidates become long-term employees), without needing a coordinator to hold your hand through any stage.

  • GTM fluency: You know the difference between what makes a great SDR and what makes a great enterprise AE, and you screen for it accordingly (deep GTM specialization is ideal, not required for every search).

  • Early-stage instinct: “You’ve recruited inside a company early enough in its growth that you were also inventing and iterating upon the process, not just following one.

  • Ops discipline: You treat your ATS as a system of record and have demonstrated experience trusting that data and partnering with Operations and Finance stakeholders to allow your data to inform business decisions.

  • Independent operation: You have strong judgement to know what’s urgent, what’s important, and where your time and energy should go in order to best serve the business in real time. You have experience pattern matching not only with candidate themes, but consistently upleveling the internal recruiting function from the inside out.

  • AI-literate sourcing: You’ve used AI tools to speed up sourcing or screening, and you can point to a specific moment you overrode the tool’s judgment with your own.

  • Range across levels: You’ve closed both an entry-level hire and a senior leadership hire in the same quarter, and you didn’t treat either one as the easy one.

What you care about:

  • ACCOUNTABILITY: You own the calibration call between a hiring manager who wants faster and a comp band that isn’t moving, and you make the trade-off explicit instead of quietly splitting the difference.

  • IMPACT: You’re running searches at three different levels at once, and you always know which one earns the next hour of your day.

  • GROWTH: You read the market data before you defend a comp number, not after a candidate pushes back on it.

Working at Kojo

Salary: Your salary will be dependent upon many factors, including your experience level, skillset, market dynamics and balancing internal equity relative to other Kojo employees. The compensation and benefits information that we provide is based on Kojo’s good-faith estimate as of the date of the job posting and may be modified in the future.

Benefits: This position is also eligible for a new hire equity grant and all US-based full time employees are eligible for our full suite of perks and benefits. For more information about our perks and benefits, check out https://www.usekojo.com/careers.

Location: Kojo’s team members work from home 100% of the time across North and South America. If applicable, we’ll identify the travel and/or location-specific requirements of a position in the text above. Otherwise, team members can expect to work business hours congruent with their local time zone and remotely.

  • Establish and enforce studio-wide coding standards, architectural patterns, and workflows aligned with industry best practices.
  • Oversee the transition and integration of R&D outcomes (e.g., comprehensive documentation, proofs of concept, prototypes) into production pipelines.
  • Continuously improve processes and technical infrastructure to support project scaling and the studio’s long-term strategic direction.
  • Collaborate with technical experts to share learnings on AI, Unreal, and engine-level topics, and align on technical directions.
  • Coordinate with partner studios to standardize Unreal toolchains (Horde, UGS, Perforce branching, AutoSDK/Turnkey, plugin baseline) per Gameloft Technical Summit directives.

3. Talent focus and team upskilling

  • Manage a team of senior, principal, and lead programmers, with focus on skills and career development.
  • Regularly assess technical skills across the division against current challenges and strategic needs.

  • Promote a positive and effective collaboration between programming teams and other departments.

4. Studio and technology partnerships

  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with technical and production counterparts at co-development studios and technology partners.
  • Oversee technical co-development with other partner studios, including alignment on style guides, architecture, tooling, and frequent lead-to-lead syncs during active production phases.
  • Evaluate new external technologies and partnerships for strategic fit and potential impact on studio capabilities.

What success will look like

As the Division Principal Programmer, you will bring visible impact on technical leadership and development on strategic projects and missions aligned with the studio’s vision.

Who you would be working with

You will oversee a programing team of approximately 35 to 40 people, and collaborate closely with other department heads and team leads in game development like Game Design, Art, and Producing.

HR Total Rewards Manager at Ashby

Designs and executes compensation, equity, and benefits strategies while partnering with finance, legal, and leadership to scale total rewards programs across the organization.

Lead Posted about 14 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Hi! I’m Rachel and I lead People Operations here at Ashby. I recently joined and I’m excited that we’re expanding our team! The People Operations Team provides support to Ashby employees through the development and implementation of programs, policies, and services that contribute to a productive and inclusive working environment. We ensure that the work we do aligns with our Operating Principles and strengthens the environment we’re building at Ashby. Our approach is to do things differently – we prioritize what truly fits our team and enhances how we work together. By embracing creativity and customization, we aim to create a people-first culture that drives both individual and organizational success.

We review all applications, and there isn’t a benefit to applying quickly. Take your time, look at the application questions and please submit before the application deadline! We aren’t able to take calls outside of the interview process, so reaching out to the team won’t push your application forward.

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Total Rewards Leader to build and own Ashby’s total rewards function through our next phase of growth.

This is both a strategic and hands-on role responsible for how we approach compensation, equity, and benefits globally. You’ll serve as the functional owner for Total Rewards responsible for setting the philosophy, building the infrastructure, and driving execution while bringing the judgment and leadership needed to help us scale the function over time.

Ashby’s Total Rewards philosophy is thoughtful, principled, and intentionally not one-size-fits-all. Compensation approaches may vary by functional area in order to best fit each part of the organization. Total Rewards provides the structure, documentation, guidance, and governance needed to ensure those approaches remain equitable, competitive, and scalable. Across the company, our shared intent is to be competitive in the market and adapt quickly as markets evolve.

In this role, you’ll partner closely with People Ops, Finance, Talent Acquisition, Legal, and functional leaders to design programs that support how Ashby attracts, retains, and rewards exceptional talent. You’ll help us build a more scalable approach to compensation and total rewards while preserving the flexibility that allows different parts of the business to operate effectively.

We’re looking for someone who has built and scaled Total Rewards programs in high-growth VC backed SaaS companies and who is equally energized by philosophy, systems, and execution. You should be comfortable defining direction while also rolling up your sleeves to run analyses, refine tools and processes, support leaders through nuanced decisions, and build the operating foundation for the future.

This role will start as an individual contributor and is expected to evolve into people management as the function scales.

You’ll be responsible for

Building Ashby’s compensation infrastructure

You’ll work closely with founders, executives, and functional leaders to build and evolve Ashby’s compensation foundations globally. This includes compensation bands, leveling alignment, market positioning, review cadences, benchmarking methodology, guidance for offers, promotions, refreshers, and market adjustments, and clearer compensation structure where it is still needed.

You’ll help ensure our approach can support a mix of more mature compensation structures and areas where it is still evolving. You’ll bring structure to ambiguity and create frameworks that are principled, practical, and scalable. You will support leaders in assessing tradeoffs, documenting non-standardized components, and put the right level of governance in place.

Monitoring the market and helping Ashby adapt quickly

You’ll leverage market data, internal data, and external trends to inform compensation decisions across the business. You’ll help Ashby maintain its target market position and ensure we are responding thoughtfully and consistently when market conditions change.

This includes identifying where certain teams may be moving faster than others, spotting gaps in coverage, and building mechanisms to ensure we are catching market movement across the company, not just in the functions with the loudest signals.

Owning Total Rewards strategy end-to-end

You’ll own Ashby’s Total Rewards strategy across compensation, equity, benefits, and perks. In partnership with founders and company leaders, you’ll define the philosophy, principles, and long-term direction for how we reward employees globally.

You’ll continuously evaluate our programs, identify opportunities to improve them, and make recommendations that balance market competitiveness, internal equity, business needs, and long-term sustainability.

Leading benefits strategy and administration

You’ll lead the strategy, selection, evaluation, and ongoing management of Ashby’s benefits programs globally. This includes broker and vendor management, renewals, plan design review, competitiveness assessment, and the systems and processes that support a strong employee experience.

Leading equity program infrastructure

You’ll help operationalize Ashby’s equity programs in close partnership with Finance and company leadership. You’ll bring greater structure, consistency, and scalability to equity practices, support program administration, and help employees better understand how equity fits within our broader Total Rewards philosophy.

Building scalable systems and operations

You’ll continuously improve the systems, workflows, documentation, and operational processes that support Total Rewards. You’ll work with tools such as CandorIQ, Pave, and OpenComp to help Ashby get roles to market quickly, make pay decisions efficiently, and adjust programs as the business and market evolve.

You’ll look for opportunities to use automation, AI, and strong operational design to improve efficiency, increase accuracy, and create a better experience for employees, managers, and the People team.

Acting as a trusted cross-functional partner

You’ll serve as the subject matter expert for Total Rewards across the organization. You’ll partner with Finance on budgeting and workforce planning, Talent Acquisition on hiring strategy and offer guidance, and People Business Partners and functional leaders on promotions, organizational changes, and complex compensation decisions.

You’ll help leaders navigate rewards decisions with sound judgment, fairness, and clarity.

Preparing the function to scale

While this role begins as a hands-on functional owner, you’ll build with future scale in mind. You’ll establish the documentation, operating rhythms, standards, and decision-making frameworks needed for the function to grow over time, and you’ll help identify future organizational needs as Ashby continues to scale.

You could be a great fit if

  • You bring several years of progressive Total Rewards experience, including meaningful ownership of compensation, benefits, and equity programs in high-growth organizations.

  • You have deep compensation expertise and have built compensation programs and infrastructure from the ground up.

  • You understand how to operate in an environment where some principles are centralized and other elements are tailored by function.

  • You’re comfortable navigating ambiguity and using data, judgment, and business context to make recommendations.

  • You’ve built and scaled compensation frameworks and benefits programs for globally distributed organizations, ideally through periods of significant growth.

  • You know how to support leaders with different needs and viewpoints while maintaining trust, consistency, and strong decision quality.

  • You’re highly effective in both strategy and execution and are comfortable being the primary owner of the work day to day.

  • You’re an exceptional communicator who can explain complex Total Rewards topics clearly to a wide range of audiences.

  • You are detail-oriented, operationally strong, and always looking for ways to improve systems, processes, and program quality.

  • You’ve previously led or managed others, or you’re excited to help build and eventually scale a future Total Rewards team.

Bonus points if you have

  • Experience building and scaling global compensation and benefits programs across multiple regions and employment models.

  • Experience leveraging automation, AI, and technology to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of Total Rewards operations.

  • Experience working with tools such as CandorIQ, Pave, and OpenComp.

  • An advanced degree in HR, business, finance, or organizational development.

  • An HR certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, CCP, or CEBS.

This role may not be a fit if

  • You want to bring your own total rewards play book and implement it at Ashby rather than reimagining how to evolve what has already been started.

  • You prefer operating within highly standardized Total Rewards programs rather than building and evolving them in a more flexible environment.

  • You are less interested in the hands-on work required to run a Total Rewards function.

  • You’re uncomfortable making decisions in ambiguity or helping leaders navigate nuanced compensation questions without overly relying on rigid rules.

  • Your experience is concentrated in only one area of Total Rewards, with limited exposure to compensation, equity, and benefits more broadly.

  • You’re not energized by partnering across functions, balancing competing perspectives, and shaping practical solutions.

  • Most of your experience has been in highly mature organizations with established programs, processes, and teams, and you haven’t had to build infrastructure during periods of growth and change.

Interview Process

Our interview process is thorough — we aim to ensure each person joining the team is the right fit for Ashby and will provide ample information to assess if Ashby is the right fit for you. The process for this role is as follows:

  • Recruiter Screen with Talent Acquisition Team - 30 minutes

  • Hiring Manager Interview - 45 minutes

  • Take Home Assignment

    • Followed by 1 hour live session to discuss
  • Virtual Onsite - 2.5-3 hours

  • Final Round with CEO - 30 minutes
